Rhinos Visit Taos

The El Paso Rhinos sent five teams to the Annual Thanksgiving Shootout in Taos, NM over Thanksgiving.

The two Mite teams had a fantastic weekend of hockey.  They also took in all of what Taos had to offer including visiting the gorge and making snowmen on their down time.  Although no official scores were kept, both teams outplayed their opponents.  The two teams are improving each week in practice and it has been showing in their games.

The Rhino Squirt team went 4-1 on the weekend and captured the first place trophy.  The team is showing a lot of improvements from the last tournament in Odessa and especially after a tough year last season.  They are looking forward to their next set of games.

The Peewee Rhinos finished the tournament by winning the 3rd place trophy.  In the process, the peewees won their first two games of the season.  Their coaching staff is very excited about their upcoming games and where the team is headed.

The JV team also had a solid weekend going 2-2 on the weekend.  The team has developed a lot since their first games in October.  The Varsity teams are excited to see the new players develop the way they have been.

The teams will continue to practice and then take time off for the holidays.  They will then open up 2015 in Los Alamos.
