That's right Rhino Country, the ice rink re-opens Friday, September 18th.  That means registration is now open for the 2015-16 season. The El Paso Chihuahuas will be having a hockey appreciation night Friday, August 28th.  They will have several hockey themed events as well as 2,000 hockey pucks for the first 2000 fans.  These pucks will feature a Chihuahua logo on one side and the 10th anniversary Rhino logo on the other side.  We have secured 200 tickets in the same section along the 3rd base line for the game.  The tickets are $14 and must be purchased at the rink.  First come first serve.  Any players that attend the game will have an opportunity to participate in a hockey parade around the field and the high five line as the Chihuahua’s enter the field.  Get your tickets NOW as there are selling FAST!!

Ever wanted to know how to get your player involved in the youth travel team program? Now is your chance, set up a meeting with the Travel Hockey Director Tom Herman by contacting him by email - therman@elpasohockey.org.  Discuss the 2015-16 season and direction for all of the teams. Contracts are also available for pick up at the ice rink.

The EPHA and YMCA have once again joined together to offer ice hockey to the youth of El Paso.  With two divisions being offered (8 & Under and 9 & over), the hockey development program focuses on basic ice skating, stick handling, shooting and positional play with an emphasis on fun.

The EPHA and YMCA are dedicated to ensuring meaningful opportunities and an enjoyable experience in a safe, controlled, and sportsmanlike environment.

All players receive a YMCA Rhino jersey for each session.  Equipment and hockey socks are also provided for players in need.

Cost is only $80 per session for YMCA members and $100 for non-members. Players needing equipment will be required to leave a $100 deposit.

The Local High School League hosted by the EPHA is open to all high school students (Grades 9-12) as well as 8th grade students.  

Please note that EPHA Local High School league allows players from all high schools (and middle schools for 8th grade players) to play on the club composite teams.  

First high school  season begins Thursday, September 24th.  Equipment is provided for any players in need. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!

Although we are a little over a month away from the rink opening, HAFP is open for registration for the first skates.  Remember it is $15/skate and limited to the first 24 skaters. Wait list players will be added to the roster in order of registration.  Any no shows will be put on the "No Show Shame List" and will owe double their next skate.

Goalies will be ran similar to last year, however we will have a new contact.  In the meantime, any goalies interested in playing HAFP this upcoming season, please email therman@elpasohockey.org with preferred playing days and cell phone number.

Season 1 for the ARL will begin Tuesday, October 13th.  SIGN UP NOW!! Register as a free agent or for your team.  

All players welcome.  Guaranteed 7 games for each team.  Referees for each game.

The El Paso Hockey Association needs your help. With the El Paso Rhinos Junior team as well as the Junior Prep Team, a lot of the players will be coming from all over the United States and possibly the world. We are asking our extended family to open their homes to these players and become host/billet/housing families for the 2015-16 season.

Each season we will be recruiting talented ice hockey players who show great potential to play at an elite level, who do not live within the El Paso area. To take advantage of this great opportunity the players need families willing to share their homes, and become a "home away from home" for them.

**Players and Rhinos will take care of all transportation needs for players.  Families not responsible for their transportation**  Players normally arrive at the start of September and leave at the end of season (end of March/early April).

***All Host/Billet families will receive a monthly stipend and a free VIP Parking pass. ***
