EPHA Members,

2 WEEKS!! That’s right, the rink is scheduled to open in just 2 weeks.  Monday, September 12th the El Paso County Events Center will be open for regular hours.  The schedule is being updated daily, so please make sure to check the website www.elpasohockey.org regularly.  There are PLENTY of updates as we prepare to open, so please take the time to read the email in its entirety. 

UPDATES -
EPHA TRAVEL RHINOS –
The last travel team meeting was held August 14th. Meeting notes are posted online at www.elpasohockey.org.  Select Team contracts (Squirt and Peewee) are now available. Anyone interested in playing in select, needs to fill out a contract ASAP as well as contact Tom Herman – therman@elpasohockey.org immediately. Jerseys and other apparel need to be ordered prior to September 5th for an on time delivery.

TRY HOCKEY FOR FREE & EQUIPMENT SWAP/DRIVE -
The EPHA is excited to announce that we will be holding a Try Hockey For Free event Saturday, September 17th at 3:00pm.  All players 14 & under are encouraged to attend the event. Players signed up for the first season of YMCA/Fort Bliss Hockey program can get a head start as well as pick up their equipment on the 17th. The EPHA will also be holding an Equipment Swap on Saturday, September 17th starting at 4:00pm. Anyone interested in trading, swapping, selling, buying or donating equipment, can come on down for the swap. 

YMCA/FORT BLISS HOCKEY PROGRAM -
The YMCA/Fort Bliss Hockey Program is now open for registration.  The first season will start Thursday, September 22nd at 6:00pm.  To register and for more information, please visit www.elpasohockey.org/ymca. Equipment is provided for those who need it! Great way to get your daughter or son introduced to the fastest game on earth!!!

LEARN TO SKATE -
Learn to skate will begin, Saturday September 24th.  Cost is only $60 for 4 classes.  SIGN UP NOW!! Visit www.elpasohockey.org/lts.  

ADULT HOCKEY -
All adult hockey programs are now open for registration. Hockey at a Fun Pace Monday night league will begin Monday, September 12th. Other HAFP skates will also start opening week. COACHES, VOLUNTEERS and MANAGERS -
The EPHA is currently looking for volunteer coaches for the YMCA/Fort Bliss Hockey Program on Thursday evening and Saturday afternoons.  Anyone interested, please email Tom Herman – therman@elpasohockey.org for requirements.

RHINO and MINER HOCKEY GAMES -
Ever wanted to work as on off-ice official for the Rhino or Miners home games? The off-ice staff is currently looking for more volunteers to help with goal judges, penalty box attendants, score keepers, time clock operators and more.  For more information or to volunteer, please contact Keith – kpehle@elpasorhinos.com.

SEASON TICKETS ON SALE NOW -
Don’t miss out on all the action for the Miner and Rhino Hockey Seasons. Season tickets are still on sale. 
The UTEP Miners Hockey Club will begin their home schedule Friday, October 14th. They will also host the Texas Conference Championship this season. Be part of the road to the championship, visit www.minershockey.com/seasontickets.

HOCKEY NIGHT AT THE CHIHUAHUAS -
The El Paso Chihuahuas will be holding their annual hockey appreciation night this Friday, September 2nd. Tickets are still available through the El Paso Rhinos Selects program. For info, please email selects@elpasohockey.org.  There will be an autograph session during the baseball game with some of the 2016-17 Miners Hockey Club and El Paso Rhinos.
