Coaches/Managers Wanted for 2017-18 Season

Rec and Travel Coaches Needed

The El Paso Hockey Association is currently taking applications for the upcoming hockey season for coaches and team managers for the El Paso Rhinos Youth Travel program as well as the Youth Rec League. All volunteers must apply by August 1st. All volunteers that will be participating on the ice for practices or on benches for games will need to apply and be selected as a coach. To apply or if you have any questions, please email Tom - therman@elpasohockey.org and specify the age group you are interested in.

As a coach for the EPHA during the 2017/18 season, you will be required to 

  • Be a current member with USA Hockey (signed up as an Ice Player/Coach)
  • Be current with your USA Hockey Coaching Certification for the 2017/18 season. The EPHA will be holding level 1, 2, and 3 clinics prior to the season to ensure all coaches are up to date. 
  • Be current or complete the USA Hockey Safesport course for the 2017/18 season. Course is valid for 2 years, however needs to be current or completed prior to the start of the season.
  • Be current or complete the TAHA Background screening for the 2017/18 season as required by USA Hockey. Screening is valid for 2 years, however must be current or completed prior to the start of the season. Screening must be done through the TAHA website
  • Complete all applicable USA Hockey Age Specific Modules
  • Regularly meet with the Director of Coaches and Youth Hockey Director
  • Communicate with Team Manager and Parents


As a team manager for the EPHA during the 2017/18 season, you will be required to 

  • Be a current member with USA Hockey (signed up as an Ice Manager/Volunteer)
  • Be current or complete the USA Hockey Safesport course for the 2017/18 season. Course is valid for 2 years, however needs to be current or completed prior to the start of the season.
  • Be current or complete the TAHA Background screening for the 2017/18 season as required by USA Hockey. Screening is valid for 2 years, however must be current or completed prior to the start of the season. Screening must be done through the TAHA website
  • Complete all applicable USA Hockey Age Specific Modules
  • Regularly meet with the Director of Coaches and Youth Hockey Director
  • Act as the liaison between the parents, coaches and EPHA Staff
  • Regularly update parents on practice and game schedule as well as other team functions and events
